The history of our firm goes back to 1859 with the Frazer Company founded in Nagasaki and the Sale Company founded in Kobe in 1880.
Following the merger of the two companies, we became a subsidiary of a company in the U.K. and Australia, and began operations in 2000 under the company name of PTI Japan Co. Ltd.
On February 14, 2013, we became a part of the Chori Group by way of M&A and on October 1, 2018 the company name changed to "CHORI GLEX CO., LTD."
Derived from the origins of our founding, we have had and continue to have deep relations with Europe and the United States, and we continue to expand our business based on the importing of special industrial products, which require a high degree of specialized knowledge.
For example, we were the first to introduce the Ford Model T and the Victor Phonograph to Japan. After WWII, we were known as the company at which Jiro Shirasu, said to be the brains behind Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida, was employed.
By becoming a member of the Chori Group, we are building a system that will accelerate a more versatile deployment of goods to meet the demands of all our customers. We have also started initiatives into new areas where the Chori Group excels, such as China, South East Asia, Russia, and the Middle East.
We will be making efforts in order to contribute to the development of society by meeting increasingly diverse needs more quickly and more accurately.
As a member of a fair society, we perceive compliance to be a vital matter and we will continue to conduct business activities in a manner that reflects that belief.
In addition to expectations for further widening our areas of activity by making use of our mobility and expertise, we ask for the continuing gracious support of our customers and clients.
